Who we are. The Dotted Line is a trading name of George Sims, a sole trader based in the UK. Email: george@thedottedline.uk. We are the controller of the personal data described here.
What we collect. Business contact details that cricket clubs and businesses publish themselves (such as a club's general or sponsorship email address and the names of officers listed on its website), what you tell us when you email us, and, for clubs and sponsors we work with, the details needed to run an agreement and invoice for it. We do not collect information about club members, and we do not ask clubs to share it.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis.
- To contact clubs and businesses about our sponsorship services: our legitimate interest in offering a relevant business service. Every email tells you how to opt out.
- To deliver an agreement and invoice for our work: to perform a contract with you.
- To keep financial records: to comply with our legal obligations.
Who we share it with. Service providers who help us run the business, including our email provider and the software (including AI tools) we use to research, draft and manage correspondence. They process data on our instructions. With your agreement, we share a club's or sponsor's contact details with the other party to a sponsorship deal. We never sell personal data.
International transfers. Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it. Contact details of clubs and businesses we approach but don't work with: up to 2 years after our last contact, or until you ask us to stop. Records of agreements and payments: for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop contacting you, and you can object to our use of it. To opt out of our emails, just reply saying so and we'll stop. To exercise any right, email george@thedottedline.uk.
Complaints. If you're unhappy with how we use your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
